Website redesign in Châtel-Saint-Denis

Your site is ten years old and it shows. We rebuild it without starting over, and without losing what Google has already given you.

A dated site is not just ugly: it costs you customers every month, quietly. It takes four seconds to open, forces people to zoom on a phone, and you no longer dare touch it because whoever built it is unreachable.

In the Veveyse we mostly see two cases. The site built by a relative ten years ago and never touched since, showing summer hours in January. And the site rented from an agency on a monthly subscription, where you own neither the files nor, sometimes, the domain name. Both can be sorted, but not in the same way.

Rebuilding a site is not the same as creating one. There is something already there: copy, photos, pages that already rank, addresses people have bookmarked. The work is as much about knowing what to keep as what to throw away.

Six signs a site has had its day

If three of these six ring true, the question is no longer whether to rebuild, but when.

You have to zoom in to read

The most common sign, and the most expensive: most of your visitors are on a phone, often standing in the street, and leave before reading a line.

It takes more than three seconds

Uncompressed images, a heavy template, slow hosting. Mobile coverage weakens on the way up to Les Paccots: a heavy page simply never arrives.

You can no longer edit it

Changing an opening time means writing to someone, waiting, and sometimes paying. The result: nothing ever changes, and your seasonal hours are wrong half the year.

The site is not yours

An endless monthly subscription, files you never received, a domain registered in the provider’s name. It is the most common case, and the first to sort out.

You are only found by name

If your site only appears when someone types your company name, it brings you no new customers. It confirms; it does not introduce — and in a commune gaining residents every year, that is a lot of people walking past.

The padlock is gone

An expired certificate, and the browser shows a red warning before your homepage. Few people click through.

What we keep

  • Your domain name, and your page addresses when they are good
  • Your copy when it says the right thing — rewritten rather than binned
  • Your usable photos, re-cropped and re-compressed
  • The rankings you have earned, through page-by-page redirects
  • Your Google reviews and profile, which stay put

What we redo

  • The structure: what people see first, and in what order
  • The mobile version, designed first rather than adapted afterwards
  • Speed: images, code, hosting
  • Wrong or out-of-date content, seasonal hours included
  • The way to reach you, moved back to the top
  • Ownership: domain, files and credentials put back in your name

Sites we have built

A restaurant, a beauty salon, a garage, a construction firm: different trades, the same requirement — that the visitor finds what they came for without thinking about it.

Why a studio from the district rather than a city agency

We are in the same district

The studio is in Attalens, eight minutes away. Coming to see your workshop, reshooting photos or showing you the site on your own screen costs nothing extra. An agency from Lausanne or Fribourg counts half a day for the same visit — and ends up not making it.

We know who searches for what here

Someone driving up to Les Paccots on a January Saturday, a family that has just moved into one of the new blocks, a Bulle company looking for a subcontractor: not the same people, not the same words typed, and not the same time of year.

One person, throughout

From the first call to going live, you talk to the same person. No project manager passing work to a developer passing work to a copywriter, and no number that stops answering six months after the invoice.

Frequently asked questions

How do you go about redesigning a website?

We always start by looking at what exists: what works, what is wrong, what was ranking. Then we decide together what to keep. Then we redesign the structure, rewrite what needs rewriting, and go live with redirects so nothing is lost on the way.

Will I lose my search rankings?

That is the real risk in a redesign, and it almost always comes from the same mistake: changing page addresses without redirecting the old ones. We list them before touching anything, and every old address points to its new one. Done properly, a redesign lifts rankings rather than sinking them.

How much does a website redesign cost in Châtel-Saint-Denis?

Often less than a new build, because part of the content already exists. The Showcase pack at CHF 1,000 covers most showcase-site redesigns. If the site has many pages or a shop, it is quoted individually at CHF 100 per hour. Travel is not billed.

My site is rented from an agency and I own nothing.

This is the most common case in the region, and it can be sorted. The first thing to check is the domain name: if it is registered in your name, we can rebuild elsewhere and switch over without depending on the provider. If it is not, we help you recover it — before any talk of design. Then you receive the files and the credentials, and the subscription stops.

Do I need to change my domain name?

Almost never. Your domain name carries your age and your links; changing it without reason throws away years of history. We keep it and connect it to the new site.

Do you also redo WordPress sites?

Yes, and it is the most common case. We take the content and rebuild on a lighter, faster base that you can still edit yourself.
